My Husband and I were both married before so we came into our marriage with some “baggage”, but we each had 2 beautiful children. We were incredibly lucky to expand our ready-made family with the arrival of our youngest daughter. 5 kids, co-parenting with exes, time sharing schedules, daily life and being parents comes with ups and downs. Then, unexpected to us both, in our 6th year of marriage, My Husband was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and was told he would never “get better” and would eventually need a heart transplant. Kids growing up and us navigating a medical situation was difficult at times. Our oldest son graduated high school in 2015, the very same time Bill had his first open heart surgery and received his life saving LVAD (left ventricular assist device). We spent the next 10 years adjusting and waiting for the phone to ring with “the call”. During that time, the other 4 kiddos graduated high school and began their adult lives. Fast forward to August 2025. After countless hospital stays, a dry run, and the many ups and downs of heart failure, Bill finally received “the call” and got his new heart. Now, we are ready to navigate the next chapter in our lives and get out and see the world. So we’re searching to purchase an RV and hit the road where we will be Driven by a Second Chance…. at life.
